What is the DSI Training Program

Implementing Design Studio requires dedicated knowledge and efforts. Without an effective implementation, the company might not derive the full results expected. Keen Design provides an inhouse training program that helps companies set up the Design Studio program with a complete understanding of their business objectives and how design plays a role in achieving those.

Why should you opt for DSI Training?

A design studio is the industry standard for creating great user experiences leveraging the skills of your design team. The DSI training will help you set up such an environment where designers thrive and innovate resulting in:
  • Optimized and high-quality design team deliverables
  • Increased employee satisfaction and retention
  • Design Studio seamlessly integrated with cross-functional processes
  • A holistic design process aligned with your business goals
In summary, a properly implemented Design Studio within a company can create better design and product outcomes by ensuring designers are given the chance to do what they do best: design. The studio approach serves as a hub for innovation and creativity, ultimately contributing to the company's success in the market.

Who's the target audience?

The training caters to several roles within the company to cover the various aspects of the design process.

  • Company sponsor needs to learn what business processes and policies are necessary for the Design Studio to succeed.
  • Design leadership needs to learn how to set up the Design Studio infrastructure and facilitate important design meetings such as design reviews and periodic offsites.
  • Designers and User Researchers need to understand and internalize the value and working method of the Design Studio.
  • Design team members/product team members need to understand how working with Design and User Research resources in the design studio produce predictable, high-quality results in a way that does not hold up the team or release schedules.

Practical information

The training is offered in two variants.

  • 2 full days: The 2-day format allows the attendees to get a more immersive and intensive training, which tends to be the most effective.
  • 4 half days: The 4-day format acknowledges that many people can’t afford to miss two entire days from work and allows the training to be combined with work schedules.

Although the training is aimed at those more vested in design such as the design teams and relevant members from product and development teams, the training is also relevant to all interested stakeholders in the company. Participants outside of design may wish to attend the beginning sessions.
